Dual Enrollment coursework is an exciting opportunity for high school students to participate in college-level coursework beginning as early as 9th grade! How to get started: In order to participate in Dual Enrollment, it is imperative that the student apply to Delta College and complete subsequent application steps independently. Emails are sent out by Mrs. Boros with links and deadlines to both parents and students. Students who do not complete these steps prior to deadlines will not be authorized to participate in dual enrollment.
Here are the steps you need to complete:
1. Apply: To apply, please visit Delta’s website. To begin, you will need to Create an Account and complete the application online. It is imperative that parents do not complete an application for their child as multifactor authentication is necessary with every login. Students only need to submit the application once and do not need to reapply every semester/year. Students will need their social security number to complete the application.
2. Guided Self-Placement: Once the appliction has been submitted, the student must complete a Guided Self-Placement Survey. You will be prompted to complete this step when an application is submitted. You may also access it by logging into your Delta application, and clicking "View" and then "Admission Steps." The survey should only take about 5-10 minutes from start to finish. Here's more information about the Guided Self-Placement Survey.
3. Submit Enrollment Authorization Form: Students and parents must complete the Enrollment Authorization Form together. Once completed, I will review, sign, authorize courses and submit to Delta on your behalf. The Enrollment Authorization Form cannot be submitted until the student is officially enrolled/registered for the academic year in which the student intends to take Dual Enrollment courses. For example, if a student submits an Enrollment Authorization Form for Fall 2027, but their guardian has not completed the re-enrollment process for the 2027 school year, the form cannot be submitted to Delta for processing until their enrollment deposit has been paid and paperwork has been submitted to our business office.
The form must be initiated by the student. Within the student portion, they will be able to invite their parent/guardian.
4. Account Activation and Multifactor Authentication: After submitting an application, students will receive a series of emails welcoming them to Delta and then with required next steps. These emails are time-sensitive with links to activate their account and set up MFA. It is imperative that students check their email, read the directions, and complete the necessary steps. If not completed within the required time frame, students must contact Delta’s Helpdesk by phone for account reset. The phone number is: 989-686-9575.
5. Course Registration: Nouvel is unable to register students for dual enrollment courses and students are independently responsible for registration. Moreover, it is imperative that students demonstrate a high level of independence and responsibility for success in a Delta course. Here's a great tutorial:
6. Ordering Textbooks: Students are responsible for independently identifying which books are needed for their courses and purchasing them in person or via the online bookstore prior to the start of the semester.
Purchasing in-person: All books and supplies are available to purchase through the Delta College Bookstore. The bookstore is located in the lower level of main campus in N015.
Purchasing online:You can also order your books online. If you have any questions about buying your books, contact the bookstore at [email protected] or by phone at 989-686-9030. When ordering, select “Financial Aid” as the payment type and enter in your student ID.
After submitting your order, it is imperative that you keep an eye on your email and phone to make sure there are not any ordering issues. If a student does not have enough money from MDE in their account to cover the cost of the book(s), Delta will not process the order and will contact the student directly. Oftentimes, there will be MDE funding remaining and that can be applied towards the cost of books. However, any difference between the flat-rate provided by MDE and the cost of tuition, fees, and books is the responsibility of the student.
Note: Many courses now use online books, which require an access code to complete online assignments. As a result, many books cannot be reused or shared among students. When course materials are posted, you will see this indication when using the search tool.
Here's a quick tutorial for ordering your text books from Delta College:
If you are planning to purchase books in-person at the bookstore, the student must be present and have a Delta ID (you can obtain this from the Department of Public Safety on Delta’s campus, N102. You must bring a valid ID and class schedule). Your Delta student ID number can be found by logging into MyDelta, clicking your initial in the upper-right corner, and then selecting “View Profile.” Your Delta ID number will be listed on the next screen on the right-hand side.
