Nouvel Catholic Central is proud to announce that two of our seniors, Rebecca Lynch and Owen Tunney, have been named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Both students received a Letter of Commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program. The letters and awards were presented by Mrs. Boros in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement.
Each year, approximately 34,000 students nationwide are honored as Commended Students for their exceptional academic promise. While Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, they are among the top 50,000 scorers of the more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2026 competition by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
Rebecca is the daughter of Donald and Mary Lynch. Owen is the son of Jason and Pamela Tunney.
We congratulate Rebecca and Owen for this impressive accomplishment and their dedication to academic excellence.
