Deputy James LaPorte graduated from Delta College and the police academy, with a major in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement procedures.

This is his 3rd year at Nouvel as the School Resource Officer at the High School & Junior High Campus. He has been a Police Officer for 4 years, including 1 year with the Bay City Department of Public Safety. He was certified as a police officer and firefighter. Prior to Nouvel, he had several different responsibilities, including general road patrol, external transport and internal transport. He also has certification and training that allowed him to teach hand to hand combat to other law enforcement officers.

He shared that he loves working at Nouvel because, " I love working with the students and building relationships with them. They provide me with memories that will last a lifetime." As he starts the new year, he said, "I look forward to connecting with the new students, strengthening my relationship with the existing students and presenting in several classrooms on various topics!"
