To customize your learning experience, you are able to choose which elective coursework you would like to participate in. In addition to elective offerings, each student will be scheduled for the following coursework which was outlined in your personalized class placement letter.

Mastery Skills will focus on time management, organization, learning strategies & study skills, as well as emphasize the importance of work completion and personal responsibility. If you are interested in your child participating in Mastery Skills during the first semester, please contact Mrs. Boros for approval.

- 8th Grade Math, Foundations: This course is intended to strengthen math foundations for our 8th graders. Students will follow 8th grade math curriculum, but will also be provided instruction and support related to foundational math skills that they have not yet demonstrated mastery in.

- High School Algebra I: The topics in Algebra I (Applications, Equations, Graphs) include properties of real numbers, linear equations and inequalities, systems of linear equations and inequalities, exponents, radical and rational expressions, correlation, linear regression and arithmetic and geometric sequences. Students will graph, solve and apply linear, exponential, and quadratic functions and will create plots of data.
- This course has entry requirements that include NWEA test scores and teacher recommendation. This course is a high school level course that allows students to earn high school credits while still in 8th grade. The course maintains the requirements of the Algebra I curriculum and includes a final exam, weighted at 20% of the final semester grade.
- Successful completion of this course will result in earning 1.0 high school Mathematics credits.
