Autumn All-Stars: A Season Full of Standouts

The fall season for Nouvel Catholic Central sports was successful where many student-athletes showed up and showed out for their teams.

The boy’s tennis team impressed by earning TVC Conference Champs, tying for first place, with three-fourths of the team receiving first or second place recognition in their flights.  The boys went on to place 4th at Regionals and should be proud of their hard work this year.

The cross country team showed what they could do this season! The entire team continually improved on their individual best times. Two Panthers, Abram Fettig and Claire Long, qualified for the state tournament. Abram, in his freshman year, finished 66th in the state with a time of 17:24:90 and a bright future with three more years to compete. Claire, as a junior, finished 16th overall, a testament to her hard work. Her season included setting a new school record with a time of 19:27:76 and was regional champion. 

Varsity Volleyball worked very hard and showcased great talent this season. The team had a wide variety of ages, grades and power. The girls overcame any obstacles that came their way and made the most out of their season, which was unfortunately cut short with a loss in the first round of districts. We are so proud of their determination!

Our Varsity Football team fought hard and is continuing to be recognized, well after the season ended. A number of players were recognized with 1st Team All Conference and All Region awards. Senior, John Carlson was a finalist for the Harry Hawkins award for his academic accomplishments, community involvement and leadership. The entire team worked hard this season and brought the school spirit! They won the first annual Bishop’s Cup against Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart. Unfortunately, the season came to an end when Nouvel lost in district finals.  

Girl’s Golf dazzled this season, continuing to improve and placing 10th at Regionals. Junior, Gabi Thiel qualified for States and placed 27th, proving that all the work pays off. She sets a great example for underclassmen or anyone wanting to try out golf.

The Boy’s Varsity Soccer team wowed us with their perseverance this year. Although they couldn’t quite pull out the win in districts, they fought hard, going to triple overtime and kept fighting to the very end! They set an amazing example for staying strong and never giving up. The team as a whole was awarded All District Academic and many walked away with individual conference and district awards. 

Looking back at the 2025 fall season, the Panthers represented Nouvel with pride. The teams and individuals are great examples of what Nouvel strives to be. They are athletes but students first with over 40 individuals earning All Team Academic honors.
