Ms. Deb VanSumeren is Nouvel's Academic Coach. She is also the Curriculum Consultant for the Diocese of Saginaw's Office of Catholic Schools. In her roles, she works to, "Continue to build the most exciting, comprehensive learning experience for students to make Nouvel the beacon of excellence in the Great Lakes Bay Region."

She attended Eastern Michigan University, where she majored in Math and minored in Science. She holds teaching certification and focused on Cross-cultural, Language & Academic Development. Additionally, she has a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from in National University, San Diego.

Ms. VanSumeren is a familiar face in the halls to staff and students. She shared, "I always have hope when I'm here. The children are exceptionally wonderful; and the staff continues to move toward providing the children with the exceptional experience they deserve."
